Dr. Jerry Healy
Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist
Dr Jerry Healy trained at Jesus College Cambridge and St Thomas’ Hospital Medical School London qualifying in 1986. His radiology training was completed at St Bartholomews’ Hospital London where he was Clinical lecturer in MRI. He is currently Honorary Senior Lecturer at Imperial College London and Consultant Radiologist at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital London.
Dr Healy has published over 60 peer reviewed papers in radiology. He has written numerous chapters in radiology textbooks and is a Lead editor on the current edition of Gray’ Anatomy.
He is currently an Associate Editor for Clinical Sports Medicine and Vice-Chair of the BSSR Radiology Organising Committee for the London 2012 Olympics.
Dr Healy works closely with several professional London football and rugby union clubs. He also sees elite track and field athletes from across the UK and sees a large number of Ballet dancers from ballet schools and ballet companies within London. Jerry also provides cover for the ECB and ERUB and has helped set up an internet based service for transferring images, aiding radiological opinion for the England cricket and rugby teams while on tour.
Dr Healy specialises in all aspects of musculoskeletal imaging but has a particular interest in imaging sports injury. His work ethos is centred around developing a multidisciplinary approach, harnessing the appropriate radiological modality to diagnose problems and guiding therapeutic intervention.
