Mr. Andrew McEvoy

Consultant Neurosurgeon

Prior to Mr Andrew McEvoy completing his primary medical qualification at the University of London in 1987, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in anatomy and human anthropology. He subsequently went on to become a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and gained the specialty qualification in surgical neurology in 2003.

Mr McEvoy has published and presented widely both nationally and internationally and hold a number of research grants funding ongoing projects at The Institute of Neurology in London. He has pioneered a specialist neurooncology service which pays particular interest to the prediction and preservation of function during large resective neurosurgical procedures and the reorganisation of brain function around brain tumours.

Mr McEvoy is currently a Consultant Neurosurgeon at The National Hospital for Neurology (NHNN) and Neurosurgery and Institute of Neurology (ION) in London. Additionally, he is an Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, with practicing privileges at The Wellington Hospital, The Princess Grace Hospital and The Cromwell Hospital. His busy general neurosurgical practice encompasses spinal surgery, trigeminal neuralgia, hydrocephalus, head injury and peripheral nerve surgery.
